About Stridee
Making systems that promote movement and community
Stridee is the platform where communities host events, athletes train, workplaces fund movement, and brands reach the people doing it.

Our purpose
Why this needs building
An ageing population needs more care, not less, and the people to provide it do not exist. The lever that is left is reducing how many people need care in the first place.
0
healthcare workers Europe is projected to be short by 2030
0.0%
of Swiss healthcare spending goes to prevention and health promotion
0.0%
of that prevention budget goes to physical activity and nutrition
Put the two together and it looks like this.
It is not a motivation problem.
Not for lack of evidence, and not for lack of knowledge. What is missing is delivery.
Movement and social connection are among the best-evidenced things a person can do for their own health. There are more free training plans in the world than anyone could read in a lifetime.
A doctor can prescribe a statin in eight seconds and cannot prescribe a run club at all.
Clubs are held together by spreadsheets and group chats.
Insurers cannot buy what they cannot measure.
Employers hand out gym cards because a gym card is the only thing on the shelf.
It is an infrastructure problem, and infrastructure is something you build.
Our mission
What we build
What that means in practice
Training
A plan that adapts to the week you actually had, not the one you planned in January.
Clubs and events
Tools for the people who organise: listings, sign-ups, check-in, calendars, their own domain.
Workplace benefits
A budget companies fund for races, clubs and time outdoors. Not another gym card.
Developer platform
One API for wearable and health data, so the next person building here does not start from zero.
For the people who fund this
Almost every company that funds movement funds gyms. In Switzerland, 22% of adults have a gym subscription. Here is everyone else.
The budget is aimed at the three shortest bars.

It is the rare benefit that is regressive by design.
A gym subsidy mostly reimburses the people who were already paying, and mostly misses the people the programme exists for.
Everyone is funding the rest themselves. CHF 2,088 per person per year goes on sport in Switzerland — CHF 680 of it on trips, around CHF 600 on equipment.
The spending is already happening. It is happening in the one place you cannot reach it.
And the current approach has stopped working. For the first time in 25 years of this survey, participation is no longer climbing. The share of adults who are inactive sits at 17%, unchanged since 2020.
Meanwhile club membership fell from 22% to 19% while gyms rose from 19% to 22% — the first year on record with more adults in a gym than in a club.
Asked why they choose the gym, people do not say equipment. They say no commitment, flexibility, opening hours. They want to move on their own terms.
A budget does that across a mountain, a pool, a start line and a club. A gym contract does it in one building.
It did not fail to work. It failed to get used.
That is the honest state of the evidence on corporate wellness, and you should hear it from us rather than from someone else in the room.
The one rigorous trial of a corporate wellness programme — 32,974 employees across 160 worksites — found no change in absenteeism after eighteen months.
It also found that the average employee completed 1.3 of the programme's 8 modules.
Uptake is the whole problem, and it is what we would rather be judged on: how many of your people actually used this, including the ones who never once touched the gym card.
